Laura Collins

Physiotherapist & Pilates Practitioner

Hailing from Newcastle, NSW, Laura studied physiotherapy at Sydney University and graduated with honours in 2008. She has since worked in private practice treating a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries and has a particular interest in neck and back pain as well as chronic pain.

Laura fell in love with Pilates after retiring from gymnastics and began teaching mat classes while still at uni. She has since completed the Polestar Pilates training programme and is certified as a Pilates Practitioner for Rehabilitation. Unable to get enough Pilates, Laura is delighted to be working at the Stott Pilates training host site and is looking forward to furthering her Pilates study.

Still in touch with the gymnastics world, Laura has provided physiotherapy coverage for state and national Gymnastics competitions for the last 4 years and is currently the NSW acrobatics gymnastics team physio (yes despite living in Perth).

A self confessed nerd, Laura is returning to the books in 2012 to begin a masters in pain management and is looking forward to implementing the latest developments in pain science and chronic pain treatment into the clinic.

Laura lists her likes as travelling, skiing and shopping, and her dislikes; watermelon and writing blurbs about herself.
