Call in your best resources!

A friend of mine invited me to take a walk with her along the Swan River this morning.

Would I have been motivated to take the walk alone? Probably not. I had a list of things I intended to do today and my focus would have kept me indoors. But I found the benefits of being nudged outside of my comfort zone and accepting her offer, were immense. Not only did we walk about 7kms which provided my body with the physical stretch it needed, but it was also the other magic moments and learnings along the way that made the journey worthwhile. The sun was warm and inviting and instantly added to the positive mood; the scenery was fantastic and a visual feast; the company was great and I was able to provide guidance and support to my friend on some of the changes she wants to make in her life; we even spotted some dolphins very close by and were totally enthralled as they frolicked effortlessly in the water. A magic morning all round!

Sometimes we need that support or “nudge” from outside sources to move us beyond the norm of our daily life….and by taking the first step with that support, the benefits can be amazing.

You can find support from family and friends, colleagues, interest groups and from professionals and experts in their industries. Enlisting their support will keep you motivated and accountable for achieving your goals. If you feel that you currently do not have that supportive environment around you, then perhaps finding that support can be the first step you take in accomplishing your greater goals in life.

Be those goals fitness, health, career, financial, relationships, mindset or whatever they are for you, having the support will yield you greater results overall.

You also have a choice – a choice to live a comfortable life of unrealised potential or a choice to step outside your comfort zone, try something different and experience a whole other aspect of life. What will it be?
